Ashley Hicks is a designer of furniture, interiors, textiles and graphics. Born in London in 1963, he studied at Bath Academy of Art and at the Architectural Association. In 1990, he married Italian designer Allegra Tondato. They lived in New York from 1991-92, since when they have been based in London, where they now live in Chelsea with their two daughters.
Ashley designs private residential interiors both here and abroad, as well as commercial projects like the Allegra Hicks shops in London and New York, and the Brompton Cross Clinic. He also designs home products for Allegra Hicks. He wrote Ashley & Allegra Hicks - Design Alchemy, a survey of his and Allegra's design work; David Hicks: Designer, a personal memoir of his father’s life and work; and a children's book, Bébé Blue and the Evil Gangsta Rappers.
He has also created David Hicks by Ashley Hicks collections of fabrics and carpets, mixing adaptations of vintage Hicks designs with new ones.
