The pupils focused on close-up detail rather than a whole tree, to create a bark design with moveable creatures on top. Textures were very important, so we used the technique of listening to music to encourage mark-making. The next step was to draw just a section of bark and change its colours to make it even more interesting. The finishing touch was making cut-out creatures to move around the bark.
