All pupils at QE II School, aged between 5 and 19, have profound and multiple learning difficulties with special educational needs. These educational needs are provided for, alongside therapeutic support, by the school. QEII is located just off the Harrow Road in Maida Hill and the majority of pupils come from Westminster.
The sun was shining for the group of 19 year old QEII student’s visit to Kensington Gardens allotment where they took great interest in the vegetables, fruits and herbs – learning much about how they grow. The day incorporated drawing plants, fruits, tree seeds and leaves, which was followed by the use of leaves with acrylic paint, sponges, card and canvas for their deckchair designs back at school. The pupils learnt about hot and cold colours and worked together to design four different deckchairs so that the winning design was worked on by everyone – a real bit of team work.
