Mat Collishaw was born in Nottingham in 1966. He went on to study at the Trent Polytechnic between 1985-86, and in 1989 graduated with a BA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths College, London.

Mat's first exhibition was unveiled at Freeze in 1988. Since then, he has exhibited across the UK, throughout Europe and at the Bonakdar Jancou and Tanya Bonakdar galleries in New York.

Much of Mat's work comprises photography and moving images. His works, exhibited at the Saatchi Gallery, included mediums such as ceramic, cement, wood and paint, to create images concentrating on illusion and desire.

Mat lives and works in London.
